Dear Chamber Member and Chamber Friends,
Here are your Friday Facts
Here is a copy of John’s Column printed in the newspaper on April 13 — John Wright, President, Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce.
For Our Members
New Member or Need A Refresher Course? NEXT WEEK We’ve Got You Covered! Did you know that as a new member of the Chamber you have many perks at your fingertips? Let us help you navigate through some of the perks while you meet other new members at the same time! Sign up for our new member class where we’ll walk you through things such as: Sharing information about your business and the services you provide on the chamber website. Posting business events. Posting hot deals. Looking for employees? Post opportunities! We’ll also share ways to market your business such as opportunities within the chamber walls, newsletters, and networking events. We’re offering a class on Wednesday, April 21 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. to be held at The Punta Gorda Chamber office located at 252 W. Marion Ave. Reserve your seat by calling the office at 941-639-3720 Monday thru Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Seating is limited so we can adhere to COVID safety guidelines. Hope to see you soon!
PG Chamber radio show: Exclusively for PG Chamber members: NOW BOOKING FOR MAY 2021. We are very pleased to announce that our monthly radio show on Seaview 104.9FM will be returning to its usual monthly spot on the Bob Alexander Radio Show on the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month. The process is very simple – no need to visit the studio. Bob will call you, set up a recording time and it’ll be done over the phone and inserted directly into the progaming of this very popular show. You get the option to record two x 2.5 minute slots or else simply record one and have it aired twice during the show. Bob will be able to let you know exactly during which hour it will air. The cost is an incredible $110 (payable to the PG Chamber, not iHeart). To register for the show, simply email John Wright. The rest we’ll take care of for you. Only ten businesses per month, so don’t delay. Offering you a great way to promote your business, advertise an event or simply to show your community support.
Restaurant owners need to act now! Google made an update and won’t show your restaurant in the local search results anymore if your rating is below four stars and if someone was searching for “best restaurant near me,” the search term “best” automatically selects all results with 4.0+ ratings. You can imagine a customer likely won’t select anything below. Maybe even go up to 4.5 in the now newly available filter.
Why am I telling you this? With our agency, we are helping our clients getting more five-star reviews for years with great success. If you are a restaurant owner and still haven’t decided yet, now it’s about time! Getting more 5 Star Reviews helps you bury those negative ones by simply outnumbering them and increasing your rating. Combined with our #SocialWifi solution, we make it easy for restaurant and bar businesses to capture guest information and automatically invite them to write a review for you. Learn more: https://reputation.smargasy.agency/ Btw: It applies to pretty much every business which relies on having an excellent online reputation.

Your job as the business owner is maintaining balance between all three legs. One leg represents the day-to-day operations, the building of the business. The second leg represents the exit plan. How do you harvest the years of blood, sweat & tears of your successful business? The third leg represents the windfall, and how will you handle a retirement that could last 30 years or more?
