Our monthly radio show on Seaview 104.9FM during the Bob Alexander Radio Show is the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month. The process is simple. Bob will call you, set up a recording time and it’ll be done over the phone and inserted into the programming of this popular show. You get the option to record two slots or record one to air twice during the show. Bob will let you know during which hour it will air. The cost is $110 (payable to the PG Chamber, not iHeart). To register for the show, email John Wright. Only 10 businesses per month. It’s a great way to promote your business, advertise an event or show community support.

Charlotte Players (Bronze) – January 30: Peter Fogel’s “Til Death Do Us Part … You First!” Peter is the eternal bachelor and has major “commitment” issues as the love of his life has just broken up with him on Valentine’s Day. PGD – The Charlotte County Airport Authority (CCAA) has reopened Runway 4-22 after a year-long reconstruction and rehabilitation project. Runway 4-22 is the preferred runway for commercial airlines as it is the longest runway at 7,193 feet.

Charlotte County Imagination Library – Horses, Kids & Books, Oh My!!! HorsePower for Healing and Gilstad Literacy Foundation are collaborating on this event for families to benefit Charlotte County Imagination Library on Saturday, February 11. . An affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and a program of Gilstad Literacy Foundation, Inc., Imagination Library has received multiple grants and donations to support the program that mails a free book to enrolled children every month from birth until age 5. Knights of Columbus – Cannot host a fundraiser at church due to the damage from Hurricane Ian. We have not been able to collect any donations for the charities in our community. We’re hosting a Hot Dog and Sausage & Peppers tent at the Farmers Market tomorrow.

Property Appraiser Accepting Partial Property Tax Refund Applications

The Charlotte County Property Appraiser’s office is now accepting applications for partial property tax refunds if a residential improvement was destroyed or rendered uninhabitable for at least 30 days due to hurricanes Ian or Nicole. Charlotte Correctional Institution – (Aramark): Corrections Kitchen Worker

The Corrections Kitchen Worker supervises inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. In this role, you will train workers in methods of performing duties, as well as assign and coordinate work to promote the efficiency of operations. This person is also responsible for the sanitation of the facility and maintaining personal safety, by conforming to all standards and regulations

Requirements:

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus
  • Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment
  • Must be able to obtain a food safety certification
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and tact
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies
  • Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance

Compensation:

$15/hour (Full time) + Full benefits, tuition assistance, 401k and daily pay options.
