Gulf Coast Partnership – Stars Academy
In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Charlotte County faced the loss of many essential childcare facilities, leaving families in a challenging situation. Recognizing the urgent need, the Gulf Coast Partnership, in collaboration with the American Red Cross and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, stepped up to create Stars Academy. This new childcare enter will cater to families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, providing a safe a nurturing environment for our youngest residents.
Stars Academy is not just a childcare center, it’s a critical step in our long-term recovery efforts. By providing quality care, we are supporting families, revitalizing our workforce, and contributing to the overall well-being of Charlotte County.
We are also launching a Diaper Drive to support the ongoing needs of our families. We encourage all attendees to bring diapers (all sizes) and wipes to help us kick-start this vital initiative. Drop off your donations at 2230 Hariet St., Port Charlotte Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This event, celebrating a cornerstone of our community’s recovery, will feature the participation of three Chambers of Commerce: Englewood, Charlotte county and Punta Gorda.
